Buying UK Eco Friendly Homes Just Got Easier

by David Allen on Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

For anyone thinking of buying a brand new house that has been built to top eco friendly specifications cost has to be a consideration, because all of those additional green features are going to come cheap.

However, the credit crunch has taken its toll on many of the UK house builders, who found themselves right in the middle of a free falling property market and the fact that people were not prepared to take out a mortgage.

Therefore, for those people, who are in the market for a new home, can in effect get a brilliant deal. Barratt Homes have been building eco friendly villages for some time, but recently everything has stopped.

This means that at their Hortham Village near Bristol, a five bedroom house will cost around £500,000 ($750,000) but they buyer can get a good part exchange rate, a £1,000 ($1,500) off their mortgage payments as well as the benefits of living in a eco village set in fifty acres of woodland.
