PecheBlu.com is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and using as eco friendly production as possible. Unfortunately, sports footwear does use rubber. Unless, we want to wear exclusively leather or canvas shoes including the soles (and we still would need non-eco friendly glue), it is difficult to make modern footwear completely eco friendly. The question is how to reduce the carbon footprint as much as possible and how to recycle all the athletic shoes that are thrown out each year. Maybe we need a contest to find the best solution.

Preventing injury is also important. Not only is it better to remain injury free, but also hospital visits consume an enormous amount of un-eco friendly products, chemicals to clean and disinfect, disposable products, overall energy use, and excreted drugs that get into the sewer system and can leach into water tables.
