Attn: Wineries and Restaurants – Join The Cork Recycling Brigade!

by Missy on Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

If you run a restaurant or winery and go through alot of wine bottles, then you probably also go through alot of corks.

Well have no fear as the cork recycling brigade is here. At Terra Cycle there is a program called fittingly “The Cork Brigade” which accepts corks of all types, including natural synthetic wine or champagne and makes neat products out of them.

This is a free program. All that is needed is for you (or whomever you appoint to cork duty) to collect the corks as you go through them and once you’ve amassed say 200 or more, pack them up, and send them in to Terra Cycle. They even pay for the shipping via UPS.

If you run a small operation or are an individual who goes through wine like a fish, you too can send yours in. But you will have to pay a few dollars for shipping. Still not a bad deal if you ask me.

For the address where to send in your cork collection, head on over to the cork recycling page on Terra Cycle.
