CustomGlamGirl.Com Announces New Green Initiative
CustomGlamGirl.com, a leading online apparel company, has announced — this is getting to be pretty popular isn’t it?! — their new plans to go green.
Their press release states
Matthew Stewart states “CustomGlamGirl.com is officially committed to taking greener steps in how we manage our business and in our product offerings. We are committed to doing our part by keeping our Eco-Fashion Philosophy at the forefront of our management decisions.”
CustomGlamGirl.com has taken several steps toward going green. First, the company purchased two bikes and a company skateboard for employees to use as lunch transportation.
“With gas prices like they are and with our facility being in such close proximity to many local restaurants and parks, using bikes as a mode of lunch transportation only makes sense,” Stewart says. ” Besides, riding a bike is a positive step anyway – it promotes a healthy lifestyle and saves money!”
To encourage this, CustomGlamGirl has extended lunch breaks to give employees more time for a longer lunch commute.
I’m all for companies going green, but is it really necessary to announce to the world “We’re green — we give longer lunches?” I want the next company I write about to present a cohesive and innovative long term greening plan as opposed to a bandwagon jumping — and just silly and self-congratulatory –proposal.
