Dr Bronner Soaps Now Certified as Fair Trade

For their 60th anniversary, Dr Bronners Soaps, received the official word that their practices are indeed fair trade. They have moved to fair trade suppliers, including the farmers and workers around the world, who produce all their major raw materials.

They also have better than average policies when it comes to their office workers in the USA. Such as offering:

  • no-deductible PPO health insurance
  • profit-sharing/retirement plans,
    that they fully fund themselves
  • capped executive pay, at five times the lowest-paid
    position
  • all profits not needed for business development, go to support
    progressive charities and causes

These are but a few of the socially responsible factoids, that make up the environment at Dr Bronners.

I love the history, philosophy, and principles of the soap company, known the world over, as Dr Bronners Soaps. If you havent gotten a chance to view the documentary, that one of the Bronner sons created, I highly recommend you watch it. It is the story of their eccentric father and also the story of how “Dr Bronners Soaps” came to be. Very interesting story!

Do read up on the fair trade certification now employed at Dr Bronners Soaps.
