Sky TV To Go Green

by David Allen on Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

It is not all of the time that you can think of a TV broadcaster as being green, especially when they are a satellite broadcaster, but in the UK Sky TV are doing just that when they introduce their latest set top box download.

This download will mean that the set top boxes will go to auto standby in the day time now, whereas before this the system only came into to operation during the night. Sky estimate that this will cut back on their carbon footprint by almost ninety thousand tonnes. While their customers will be benefitting from saving £20 million on their energy bills.
