Mezzetta Chooses Veggie Sandwich As Contest Winner
Mezzetta, the maker of yellow and red peppers and olive products, has an annual contest called MakeThatSandwich which calls for your best sandwich recipe.
Ninette Holbrook of Orlando, Florida submitted her creation which is pictured below and consisted of an open-face braised fig and caramelized onions veggie sandwich. Talk about creative! The 2nd annual contest was open to anyone who submitted a recipe and used two Mezzetta products, plus one could enter in three categories: Cold, Hot and Vegetarian.
Ninette entered the veggie category and not only won in that category, but won the whole thing. Her sandwich was the GRAND PRIZE winner and she took home $25,000 along with a trip and tour of Napa Valley. Nice!
