Earth Hour The World Responds

by David Allen on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

As the world suffers at the hands of pollution and other perpetrators of climate change, we have to think, how do we get the message across to those who haven’t heard it yet? If one day could change everything, then Earth Hour could just be that one time when the people of the world get together and respond to what is happening around the world.

Earth Hour will take place on the 28th March at 8.30 pm local time. People are encouraged to take just sixty off from using their lights and spend this time outside with family and friends. This has been running for two years now and every year the movement gets larger, this year’s target is one billion people. Just turn the lights off and take an hour off, imagine the result is everyone did that?

  • This is a great initiative, but seriously, how does this really benefit us when it is a simple sixty minutes? The problems lie in our leaders and governments. Until they begin to turn things around, the people are simply little mice scampering to try and make a difference.
