Eco clean your car

by David Allen on Sunday, August 5th, 2007

There is nothing a shiny clean car, but by using your normal store bought car shampoo and waxing products can contain chemicals and other nasties. So what do you do now?

You could not bother to clean your car, but this is likely to attract attention from the law and little sign writers who cannot help leaving you messages like “Clean Me” and possibly even worse!

What you can do though is to try green cleaning, these are way of cleaning that are kinder to the planet and do just as good a job as those store bought products.

DIY Bite: Mix vinegar and water 1:2 to clean windshields. Also, using a bucket and turning off the hose while scrubbing will save more than 100 gallons per wash. (Ideal Bite).

  • I had no idea it was against the law not to wash your vehicle. Most of northern Canada would be in trouble I think. I washed my truck last summer, I might this year if I feel motivated. We have so much mud and gravel roads up here that washing it is redundant. I might turn the hose on it, in case I get a criminal record. LOL
