Eco-friendly Gear for Canada’s Olympic Team

We are all aware that much of the attention today is set on the Olympics and most countries are gearing up for the prestigious meet. While some are training hard, the matter of outfits and uniforms is also up and the air and you have to hand it for the Canadian team for using gear that is made from bamboo.
Most of their uniforms will be made from Chinese bamboo and for sure this trend will be followed by other Olympic participants as well.
“The priority for me is comfort, definitely — nothing too tight,” Olympic rower Rachelle De Jong, who modelled the clothing, told CTV Toronto. “I think the pieces fit beautifully.”
“I think some of it’s pretty cool, some of it’s pretty funky, but if there’s a whole group of us, as there should be at the Olympics, then we’ll all look pretty spiffy,” added Olympic swimmer Colin Russell, who also showed off the gear.
The clothing is also made from eco-friendly fabrics such as bamboo and organic cotton.
