Eco-Friendly iPhone Charger Launched

MotionTouch unveils the Powcell, a light powered mobile phone charger compatible with the iPhone and Blackberry smartphones. The charger works on usual solar energy which originates from an internal battery which has solar panels that uses light to charge it.

The Powcell sleeve slides onto the back of a mobile phone handset not only making the product environmentally-friendly, but also continuously keeping the phone charged thereby, reducing the chance of a low battery

For now, the Powcell is available for the Apple iPhone 3G at £59.99

  • This is great! There are also solar iPod chargers that have an iPod power cable which gets its energy from the foldable solar panel that stores the iPod. The iPod Power Cable includes a 12V vehicle outlet cable for charging any device for which you have a cigarette lighter charger and can also power cell phones, digital cameras, GPS, as well as other items. It's cool to see all of these solar-powered options...but I think this internal battery and sleeve take the cake. Seems more simple compared to the iPod charger, and the price is definitely worth it if you never have to recharge again!
