Eco friendly pest control

by David Allen on Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Pest control can hardly be described as being eco friendly, in fact far from it. Yet without this form of control where would we be, over run with all sorts of pests and nasties.

Cockroach

Take the humble Cockroach, this guy is like “Rambo” of the insect world, he can hold his breath for around forty five minutes, go without food for over a month, and even slow its heart rate down. You are going to need something pretty substantial to fight him with.

There is an eco friendly way of wiping these guys out, a company named Green Dragon Roach Kill have developed a green way of killing Mr Roach, and it is based on Boric Acid, but is not toxic to pets or humans. Great!

  • Sounds like a great idea. Those are really big cockroaches that do a lot of damage to crops. I hope the techniques works well.
  • Now more than ever we need to be aware of what we put into the environment. Pest control companies have switched over to non-abrasive chemicals that are more environmentally friendly. Modern Pest Services, the leading pest control company in New England, has such a program. Modern Pest Service's HomeCare Organic Pest Control Program strictly adheres to the USDA's National Organic Program regulations. HomeCare Organic uses products used in our programs are created with botanical oils gathered from plants. Plant oil blends used as active ingredients won‘t build up in the environment. Eco-friendly and composed of natural ingredients, these compounds are biodegradable and help maintain a sustainable and healthy environment. Combined with Modern's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques, the HomeCare Organic Program is the best green pest control option.
  • In order for a pest control service to be green, clearly toxic components must be eliminated. Those chemicals must be replaced with their botanical, biological, and mineral counterparts. By using those non-toxic, non-chemical products, we keep ourselves, family and pets are kept safe while dealing with pests. There is also more emphasis on preventing pests, such as keeping the home clean, maintained, and yard trimmed and healthy.
