I am researching eco-friendly products to recommend to my community in Palo Alto, California. I want to encourage companies searching for where to place themselves in this growing market to do all they can to be forward thinkers and leaders in this area. I recommend reading the just realeased book, Stirring it Up: How to make money and save the planet.

Consumers overall are not well informed when it comes to beauty right now. But the tide is swelling and there will soon be a tidal wave of everyday people wondering why the corporations they have been supporting and who had the ability to change and change fast didn't do so.

Now is the time to take a critical look at your planning, sourcing, production, packaging, transportation, distribution, point of sale and reclaimation to set where you want to be in the new stewadship driven world of commerce. To survive long in this new eco-friendly industrial revolution, you will need to be positioned well for the coming groundswell of customers questioning your impact on the envirionment and the part they play by purchasing your products.
