Don’t be surprised if one day you see new bottles of Pepsi in the market. This is part of the company’s plans to be more eco-friendly, new bottles made entirely of plant material. The make of the bottle shows a clear and normal-looking plastic bottle which was actually made using materials like pine bark, corn husks, and switch grass.
Pepsi is likewise trying to broaden possible materials for re-use. This includes scraps and waste items like potato peelings, orange peels and oat hulls. Limited testing is set to be done in 2012 and should it prove successful, Pepsi plans to make use of the new eco-friendly bottled packaging for its drinks.
