Energy Saving Tips For Your Computer
How can i make my computer energy-efficient? This is a reader question that was posted recently at green site Lighter Footstep. Most people that have a computer get addicted and fast to the internet and its many uses.
There are groups of people who tend to use the PC more than others including those of us who blog for a living, run websites, do ecommerce, folks who do research for work related tasks, or students for classwork. I know i spend a good chunk of my day chained to my computer.
The good news is that there are things we all can do to minimize the impact of our daily PC use. Here are a few tips for decreasing (or stabilizing) your computer energy usage.
Energy Saving Tips for Your Computer
- shut down completely your computer every night
- unplug your PC from wall outlet
- buy a power strip and turn that off, if you don’t want to unplug your PC
- upgrade instead of buying a new computer
- try not to overburden your PC with too many apps
- you can upgrade memory, hard drives, monitors, etc
- if you must buy, then buy an energy-efficient PC like Zonbu
You can also just take a break from your computer and give it, your body, and the planet much needed rest.
