Fine Wine Retailer Found a Way to Offset its Co2
In an article from Small Biz, an online winery found a way to offset its carbon emissions and boost its eco-cred.
J.J. Buckley Fine Wines, an online wine retailer, based in Oakland, California wanted to offset all (if not most) of its co2 emissions and in order to do this, first they had to find out how much was their annual greenhouse gas output. It took them all of two months to find this out, with the help of FedEx and UPS they were able to determine the energy output of their wine bottle shipments. They then looked into their warehouse and headquarters operations and what emissions were being created there.
In all they pay CarbonFund.org, a carbon reduction organization, $2,000 monthly to offset a great deal of their Co2 emissions and besides being socially-responsible, this also helps set them apart from their competition.
