Florida Teacher Drives Vegetable Oil Powered Truck
Dan Butler, a gym teacher and football coach in Florida, is driving around in a diesel truck that he converted to run on vegetable oil. Dan says, he is just an average joe who is doing his small part for the planet.
The Ford 350 truck is only refilled every few weeks and he gets his recycled vegetable oil for free from local pizza joints and other neighborhood restaurants. He has even motivated some reluctant friends who now want to also try out the idea.

Hey! My mom does this too! The process to switch over your car is so easy and inexpensive. I know that it is not a viable option for every person, but my goal is to ease America off oil to help consumers save money and to save the planet. There is an energy bill being considered in congress right now that, if passed in its entirety, would create a 35 mpg standard by 2020. This would incite car companies to put more cars on the market that will be better consumer options and better for the environment. The bill would also include a 15% renewable energy standard by 2020. This would also relieve our reliance on foreign oil, save consumer money, and yup, you guessed, help protect the environment. This bill is monumental, and the biggest in US history. Let your representatives know how important it is by signing the petition at http://www.energybill2007.org!
