Free Lightbulbs for Namibians

Namibia’s Nampower recently set aside $14 Million (Namibian dollars) to acquire 800,000 compact florescent lights (CFL).These lights will be given to Namibians for free so they can use less power. This initiative arose as a direct result to combat the frequent power shortages in Namibia.

It is expected that these bulbs will decrease energy used by the country by 20 megawatts.
