Green Phone Charger By O2

by David Allen on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

The charging of mobile or cell phones has long been the brunt of many complaints due to the fact that people simply charge their phone batteries up at any time of the day and normally for much longer than is necessary. This uses an unnecessary amount of power and it therefore very un-eco friendly.

However, the telecom provider O2 has produced a range of eco friendly phone chargers, which are on sale in the UK. These chargers use seventy per cent less power and even comply with the strict US energy star rating. It is estimated that if every mobile phone user in the UK change their charger to one of these, it would around £31.4 ($45) million and cut down carbon emission by the equivalent of 36,000 cars.
