Greening Apple!

by erin on Saturday, May 12th, 2007

Steve Jobs of Apple recently posted a green memo on their website. It outlines Apple’s plans to remove toxic chemicals out of production, such as lead mercury, cadmium and arsenic, increase the recycling of e-waste, as well as talks about their plans for a greener future.

E-waste is becoming one of the more prominent problems in terms of recycling. Electronic technologies are moving so fast that items are becoming obsolete before people can re-use them, let alone figure out a way to effectively recycle them. It’s great to see companies like Apple taking this project on board and moving towards a environment-friendly yet electronic-filled future. (God knows I couldn’t survive without my Mac!)

Head over to Apple’s website and read the full memo here.
