Holly Fisher of SmartShop Creates Recycled Metal Sculptures
Holly Fisher is one of very few women blacksmiths in the US. She is garnering some mini eco fame, with her amazing recycled metal sculptures.
Pictured above is Job, a hand forged recycled steel horse sculpture made by Holly. Isn’t it gorgeous? These are all hand made. You can find some of her pieces in the Kalamazoo, Michigan Smartshop Art Gallery. (of which i cant find a website URL for)
Below is a great video made about Holly Fisher by a student in Holly’s local college district. It has a great documentary feel to it. I quite enjoyed it. Holly talks about how she outsmarts the devil with her blacksmithing (quite funny), and also about her love and passion for blacksmithing. A good video, well made, and interesting characterizations.
