How To Green Your Bathroom: 12 Tips

by Missy on Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

There are more ways to green a home, than you can shake a stick at. One of the best ways to break it down, and not get overwhelmed, is by selecting a room of the home, and starting there.

Let’s start with the bathroom, and take a look at several ways you can green it up.

1.) Use A Hemp Shower Curtain (naturally resistant to mold and mildew)

2.) Use Low Flow Shower Heads (saves water)

3.) Use Recycled Materials for Remodeling and or Renovation Upgrades

4.) Try Your Hand At Recycled TP (get some online)

5.) Wash Your Towels In Cold Water (will be just as clean)

6.) Install A Modern Toilet – they flush less water, most older ones waste up to 5 gallons per flush

7.) Use Natural Hair Care Products

8.) Turn off water when not in use

9.) Install CFL bulbs

10.) Use natural light, as in a window or leave the door open

11.) Use eco friendly bathroom cleaners

12.) Shower less (well not less than once per day, but if you normally bathe 5 times a day, that is a bit much)

That’s 12. Add your own green bathroom tips below in the comments. There are loads more.
