How To Green Your Diamonds

by Missy on Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

No doubt, diamonds are a woman’s best friend. It’s also been said that it’s the ultimate sign of love between partners. That being said…

Diamond mining is destructive to our environment. Tons of rock is extracted to acquire one carat of diamonds underneath Earth. We even get air and water pollution from the mining activity which negatively affects our ecosystem.

A better way to get diamonds

There is a better way to get diamonds. Go the recycled route. The quality and property of these recycled diamonds are exactly the same to what you get from a mined diamond.

And the best part is, this process only requires a decent amount of electricity to create. There will be no damages done to the environment or to people living in mining communities.

Wanna try?

Visit an eco friendly diamond retailer such as Green Karat. Give a recycled diamond a chance.

What a great idea! Personally, I like to buy vintage or "used" jewelry anyway. The pieces I find tend to have more character and are much more unique than something found in a contemporary jewelry store.
