Companies are reminded to add some eco-friendly and sustainable options as far as packaging for their products are concerned. But just in case they are still clueless on how to go about it, maybe this project from a group of students can spark some ideas.
The students over at Clemson University came up with a rad idea for smartphone packaging, adding more flavor to the usually discarded cardboard packaging once they get the actual device out of it. By putting their heads together, 5 students were able develop a packaging that can harness solar power that can charge the gadget sealed in it.
The unique circular carton encourages user interaction, given the innumerable ways in which the lid can be applied to the base. A closer look in fact reveals that the perimeter of the top is perforated with significant spaces and the bottom is lined with a photovoltaic strip.
