Inventor focuses on Environmentally-Friendly Homes
Inventors have been in the media recently and getting their just due, as many pioneer away with their unique ideas and creations for years and years. Many of these inventors are putting their focus on products that are environmentally focused.
Meet Mike Sykes, an inventor of specially engineered wood homes called Geo Solar Homes and his patent is for Enertia Building System, which was recently named a finalist in the Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge, which can be seen on the History Channel.
Basically with Mike’s invention, “wood is no longer just a structural member, or just a decorative trim or paneling- it becomes a solar energy storing device, and when the house is properly configured and sited it can heat and cool itself. The technology to create this special wood is what makes the invention innovative and oh! so green.
Their is a traveling exhibit which displays a model version of Mike’s Geo Solar Home and the next one scheduled is for June 4-25 in the patent office of Alexandria, VA.
