Is Urine Next New Alternative Energy? (Seriously!)
New report from MSNBC discusses how university scientists in Ohio have devised new technology which takes urine and turns it into cheap hydrogen fuel cells.
Yes! urine. Everything from cars, homes to electronic devices can be powered up using this new alternative source of energy. And in as early as six months.
Some examples of how urine power (a/k/a pee power) could be used:
“A fuel cell, urine-powered vehicle could theoretically travel 90 miles per gallon”.
“The waste products from say a chicken farm could be used to produce the energy needed to run the farm,” said John Stickney, a chemist and professor at the University of Georgia.
“Soldiers in the field could carry their own fuel.”
Interesting development from the field of environmental science. We’ll see when and how this develops. Will keep you posted as always.
