It’s Eco Friendly, But Is It Art?

by David Allen on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

This chair is made from recycled seat belts and sustainable materials. However, because it is custom built, there is going to be a reflection of this in the price.

Features:

Strong- the straps maintain a tension with the wood frame, actually holding it together

Simple utilitarian beauty- the Shaker inspired design features joinery in contrasting colour and “ears” that peak over the chair to represent a connection to our natural world

Eco-efficient- the webbing is sourced from surplus stocks of automotive seat belting and the wood is sustainable sourced from FSC certified forests

Safe- the extended front legs discourages over-zealous rocking for the childlike and provides stability when sitting and getting up

Priced at $1049.99
