It is one thing to see our kids donning the latest fashionable clothing from marquee brands. However, are they safe to be worn?
Not only are the potential health threats harmful for the kids but adults could be hit too.
And all this was gathered after Greenpeace reportedly made a purchase of about 82 textile products from May to June, 2013, all of which were then forwarded to Greenpeace Research Laboratories at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom for evaluation.
The result/s were far from satisfactory, most of the clothings said to contain harmful substances. Among those found were high levels of perfluoric acid (PFOA) while some with certain percentage of phthalates.
In all, as parents we should perhaps be more aware of the safety constraints that these clothes carry. Not only would it be for the benefit of our kids, but ours as well.
