Largest Wind Energy Storage Launched in Texas

Texas is now home to the World’s Largest Wind Energy Storage System after the said plant was reportedly launched by Duke Energy. The said facility is a 36-megawatt power plant which boasts of cutting edge technology which will provide storage for a 153-megawatt renewable energy plant, something which is said to supply power to Walmart.

Duke started to work on the said plant in 2011, a system which is largely composed of PowerCell batteries; a “12 volt, 1 kWh, dry cell battery based on a proprietary formula of alloys including copper, lead and tellurium.

If proven reliable, the said battery storage system could be a benchmark to power municipal grids from solar or wind farms, something which should help jack up businesses and customers in the energy sector for better and more reliable power and energy storage solutions as demanded by many today.
