Inevitably you will receive a series of shiny new gadgets this year for Christmas, to outdo the ones you received last year. So in with the new and out with the old, but wait!

Why not cash in by recycling a few of these old items?  Yes, you can get abit of after Christmas cash, if you send in old electronics and gadgets to several well known recyling companies who pay for the goods.

Lets take a look at a few of the best cash for gadget companies.

Gazelle - this company accepts a variety of electronics for cash, are well established and easy to deal with. Try them first.

Cell for Cash – this company as their name suggests is for cell phone recycling. Find your model and see what they pay on it.

Buy My Tronics – this one accepts alot of different gadgets for cash. Try them for odd items such as old laptops, PDA’s and even digital book readers.

Also keep in mind that they don’t all pay the same. One might offer you more than the other, so do shop around!

If the above companies don’t carry the particular item you want to get cash for, then Google the following; “item + recycling” and find the company which will accept your item. Nowadays just about any and every electronic or gadget can be recycled for cash, just do some online searching. I’ve seen everything from iPods to GPS units and Xbox game consoles accepted for cash. So do look around.

Usually the way it works is you go to the respective website, enter in your gadget brand and model then you get an estimate of what the company will give you in exchange for the item. You agree and send in the item, once received and approved you get a nice sweet check in the mail.

That’s it. Most of these (cash for gadget) companies vow to responsibly recycle the gadgets for you. But do check the company out to make sure they don’t just plan on sending your item to a Chinese or European landfill. Yes! some do this . So do your due diligence BEFORE sending anything anywhere.

Most are legit and work as promised. But always do your homework.

Try it now and let us know how it turns out for you, and if you score some nice after Christmas cash.
