Marks & Spencer Introduce Green School Uniforms
Both Marks & Spencer and British Home Stores announced they would introduce a line of eco-friendly school uniforms as a part of their fall line.
The line will be made out of recycled plastic bottles. By chopping the bottles up into flakes and melting them, you can create a soft and durable polyester yarn that can be woven into cloth.
“We’re constantly looking at ways to give our customers the most innovative, best value and highest quality schoolwear on the high street,” Julian Kilmartin, the director of M&S’s menswear and boyswear, said. “Using recycled polyester is another way that we’re doing this.”
M&S’s line will range in cost from £3 to £20 per piece and BHS’s line will be £3.50 to £20 per piece, making both lines pretty affordable.
Both lines go on sale on August 20th and also includes fair trade cotton shirts.
