Generally speaking mowing the grass is not very eco friendly, gas powered mowers are said to produced the same amount of pollution in an hour as a car would in four hours.

But there is help at hand; a new concept in grass maintenance is starting off in Austin, Texas. They use electric mowers, now normally an electric mower would not be any good, but these are charged up on the truck by solar panels, they are relatively quiet and produce no emissions.

Austin Lawn Care are using the mowers and are making an impact, some people think that the $40 average price is a little steep, when they can get it done for $25, but these days you have to make a choice.
