New type of bottle for water

by David Allen on Thursday, July 5th, 2007

The thing about bottled water is not the content; it is the actual bottle itself. The average spring water bottle weighs in at about 15 grams, but a French firm Sidel have developed a revolutionary new type of bottle, originally called skins, but the name is now NoBottle, they weigh in at just under 10 grams, so the advantage is obvious.

no bottle

There are 160 billion liters of bottled water consumed each year, now you can see the significance of the difference in the bottle, around a third of the plastic content could be removed, that is a lot of plastic which will only end up in a land fill site when finished with.

Sidel will be launching the NoBottle at K 2007, an international trade fair, in October.
