Nike to go anti sweatshop
Having had some really bad publicity over the years regarding where their shoes are made and under what conditions, this has not really harmed them, but anything like this over the long term is not going to be good for any business.
So like any well intentioned company they are going to set out to crack down on poor and bad working conditions in all of its factories worldwide They have also pledged to cut down on the amount of overtime that the workers are doing in China and other parts of the Far East.
This should be taking place by the year 2011 in all 700 factories, which is going to affect 800,000 workers, these plans will also take into consideration poor working conditions, reducing waste and of course carbon emissions.
