We are often told not to let out food go to waste. But regardless of these warnings, food spoilage is rampant for most parts of the world, particularly in the U.S. In fact, about 30 million tons of food are thrown annually but now EcoScraps devises a way to put these food waste to good use.
This is in the form of transforming these food waste into a type of 100% organic soil fertilizer, something that should somehow aid the gardening efforts for people wanting to grow organic veggies.
EcoScraps only uses waste from fruits and vegetables, making it animal- (and feces-) free, and they promise their soil is “so organic you can eat it.” They plan to expand the business to other states, including both compost collection and soil sales.
