Old Style Light Bulbs Phased Out

by David Allen on Monday, January 12th, 2009

In the UK, it is the end of the line for the older less energy efficient incandescent light bulbs, in fact since the announcement of this phasing out; stores have been selling out of the old fashioned to the point that it is virtually impossible to any of these lights bulbs anywhere in the UK.

This should be cause for concern, rather than celebration because it means that there are many household in the UK who still wish to use this type light bulb, in fact they have stocked up and will be probably be using them for years to come. This is slightly worrying when we think that the decisions to take these light bulbs off the market are due to public demand.

I use several of these new light bulbs in my home. At first, I used them at the rooms I need the light most of the time. But since I figured out that the type of light they emit is so much brighter, I started to use them in other rooms too. I believe I have one or two of the old kind left only.
