Plastic Materials
We all know that plastic bags are becoming one of the environmental disasters of the past decade or so, with around one trillion being used every year worldwide, this cannot go on otherwise everywhere will be filled with these bags.
One greater alternative is the process used by SLiK nonwovens to produce a workable material from plastic bags, which can be fashioned into clothing, like the picture of the dress made from Safeway plastic bags. How is the material is made? By taking the plastic bags and ironing them onto some baking paper, and then in theory the layers can build up and then form a workable material.
