Plastic wheels for cars, soon

by David Allen on Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

Cars cause environmentalists a major headache, everything about them is questionable and that even goes for today’s green cars, yet there are many parts of the car that can be recycled, but rarely are, why? Because old cars are dirty, dangerous and it is just too easy to crush them into a cube and then forget about them.

However German manufacturer BTE Hybrid-Tech®GmbH is working on a plastic wheel rim, this will revolutionize the recycling car parts, and they are lighter than the steel wheel currently used. Lighter means less fuel used, which is another good thing.

It is still in the testing stages, but it will not long before we see plastic wheels on cars, and maybe other parts too.
