Power from recycled water

by David Allen on Thursday, September 20th, 2007

This may seem a rather far fetched statement, but NanoLogix have provided a demonstration that seems to use this method and use it well.

The system requires a 5.5 kw generator to be converted to run on hydrogen, but traditional methods of producing this gas are both expensive and tend to use a lot of power in order to produce it in the first place. Then you have storage and transportation problems and costs.

The NanoLogix system creates it own hydrogen from waste water and bacteria. Somehow the bacteria breaks down biomass to leave the hydrogen gas, once this is use by the generator the exhaust is pure water.

This sounds like a great idea, although it would need to be cost effective and safe.
