Recharge All Electric Lawn Mower

by Missy on Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Yesterday we wrote about how several cities including Las Vegas and Los Angeles are now paying homeowners to tear out their lawns and instead replace with water friendly options such as mulch or low-water plants.

But if you still have a lawn and want an earth-friendly option for keeping it tidy and beautiful. Take a look at the new all electric Recharge Lawn Mower.

The Recharge lawn mower is powered by three electric batteries which reside under the seat and will last approximately 3 hours on a full charge. To fully charge it you would plug into your home outlet and let it ride overnight, which according to Recharge amounts to about .55 cents in wattage use. Not bad!

Plus the mower needs no oil, no tune-up and Recharge claims it is virtually maintenance-free. How much will this baby run you? The all electric mower will set you back $2,195.

I've found a great website for electric lawn mowers – http://www.greengardentools.com/electric_lawn_m...

But I have to agree, that is a really reallllly cool electric lawn mower but it's pretty expensive. And three batteries can't be cheap to charge. I wonder how long those batteries last… Anyone know?
