Reusable Diapers Lack Eco-friendliness

by Brian Yalung on Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Just when everyone thought that reusable diapers is a great way to help bring down the carbon footprints that we have been debating about, it was now discovered that they cause more harm to the environment.

The process of washing them for reuse is the actual target that should be hit. Washing them and drying them, the process does seem entirely a lot of work but the real point of critique would be the materials used to clean them for reuse.

It is perhaps the curing time when they can be used again that needs to be addressed. Some use the dryers and excessive water to clean them up. Those two alone are big sins when it comes to reusing diapers for any baby today.

  • They were talking about this on the radio yesterday and it actually makes sense when you think about it. Plus I believe a lot of the non-reusable diaper companies have started to go green making reusable diapers even less green when compared to the non-reusable.
