Revolving Door Generates Power

by David Allen on Thursday, December 11th, 2008

If you imagine how many revolving doors there are in the world, then imagine what it would be like if they all generated power every time that somebody used one of them. This would indeed produce a huge amount of power.

This use of kinetic energy means that after the cost of installation has been met, each time that the door is used it produces a small amount of power, each door is estimated to generate around 4600 kilo watts per hour. Within the system the there are LED’s which change colour when the unit is generating power, very cool.

  • Wow, such a great yet simple idea. I wonder will the implementation of this increase the number of revolving doors in residential and business buildings.
