Shopping Online? Use Climate Cooler To Offset Carbon Footprint

by Missy Diaz on Monday, December 8th, 2008

Have you heard of Climate Cooler? Earth 911 has written an article discussing the pros and cons of online shopping vs in store shopping, and in the article they cover Climate Cooler.

Climate Cooler is an energy auditor and it also happens to run an online shop that carries over 350 popular retailers like Target (and a host of others).

What is unique and cool about this shop is that it measures and calculates the carbon footprint of the items you purchase. This amount is then offset by a fee of 2% to 12% given to Cooler by the retailer. The fee amount is used to invest in various energy conservation efforts.

Large eco friendly organizations like the NRDC, Environmental Defense, and National Wildlife Federation are major supporters of this website.

Help fight global warming while you shop for the holidays. Give Climate Cooler a try.
