Liza Minelli Leads Snowmobikes for Time Square Lighting
Pedal power is the ideal alternative to help power the usual Christmas lights that bring the festive mood and Times Square is kicking it all off courtesy of Liza Minelli. The showbiz veteran has announced that everyone is encouraged to come down to Times Square on December 31 and participate in the pedal power bikes that will help store power in welcoming 2009.
“What happens is really cool. Whoever is riding these bikes here… it’s storing energy that on New Year’s Eve, coming into 2009, will light up Times Square,” she said. “Anybody can come down here and pedal and be a part of something that will go on forever.”
