Solar Powered Plane Tours Europe
There is only one solar powered plane that is capable of carrying a person, it is the Sunseeker II, and it will be setting off on a European tour following the e-flight expo, which takes place on the 5th April. This is the second version of the craft that made twenty one flights and spent a hundred and twenty one hours in the air during 1990.
The Sunseeker II is designed by Eric Raymond; it uses battery power to get into the air, while solar power takes over during the flight for the controls and other operations. The plane will be flying over the following countries: Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia.
