Green Santa Clauses

No other than jolly old St. Nicholas would be the best status figure that can help lead the green cause and make Christmas a more ecology conscious season when it comes to gift giving. And how does one start it? Well through fictitious stories of course. Besides, we often say that the best way to promote green is through the kids who will someday be in our places.

(Source) “When Santa Turned Green,” by Victoria Perla. This story for kids age 5 to 11 is about an environmentalist Santa who discovers that his home, the North Pole, is melting. It’s printed with soy-based inks on recycled paper and costs $15.95 at www.mygreensanta.com

To most people, the road towards going green may sound like an uphill climb of only a handful are inclined to promote the clean and green world we live in. Christmas is a time of needing to make decisions when it comes to gifts for people. Turning to the eco-friendly ideas for such gifts may be a good recourse to consider.
