The solar capital of the world!

If there was ever a place that you would think of a being the solar capital of the world, Freilburg in Germany would not be the first place to spring to mind and yet this is in fact an eco friendly Shangri-La.

The roof tops are made from solar panels, which provide the house with power and as for the heat; this comes from solar hot water evacuated tubes. Any additional energy that is required will be produced by the wood chip fuelled power station.
