We love the idea and name behind the new Two Rags company venture. To help woman in developing countries (safely) handle menstruation.
A traditional bag of maxi pads from a top brand in the US roughly costs about $5. We can imagine this amount is considered a luxury in developing countries, if they even have access to the pads at all. With more pressing issues like clean running water, maxi pads most likely take a back seat. Which then means women in these countries have to deal with safety and health issues as they resort to different means of handling their monthly menstruation.
This is where Two Rags comes in.
Their goal is to help women in non developed countries by providing them with a kit of maxi pads which can be reused again and again. The kit comes free and is sent to these women – with purchase of their underwear line.
So essentially when you purchase any of their cute underwear line, (and yes! they’re cute) a kit containing 5 reusable maxi pads is preserved and sent to women in need. How awesome an idea.
The line is not yet available, but you can visit the (Two Rags) website to follow along with the launch progress and also to see how you can help.
