Vermont and Bolivia Team Up!
E-Wire reported today that a co-operative of eco-friendly luxury furniture makers, Vermont Woods Studios, and forest management experts in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, have joined forces to save the Amazon.
E-Wire writes
“We’ve always had a passion for the tropical rainforest and it’s inhabitants,” said Vermont Woods Studios owner, Peggy Farabaugh. “We try to do our part to save the rainforest by ensuring our wood is certified as sustainably harvested by the Forest Stewardship Council, FSC, the worldwide gold standard for responsible forestry practices. The minute we saw LaChonta’s line of beautiful heirloom quality FSC certified outdoor furniture we knew our customers would love it! Since then we have worked extensively with LaChonta and are now the only company able to provide this eco luxury line of furniture to US and Canadian consumers via the Internet, and at very reasonable prices.”
This seems like a good idea, but after reading the typo-filled press release that exhibited a lack of a real plan, I can’t help but wonder, why not save the environment that exists in your own backyard first?
Just a thought.
