Wal-Mart Shells out Additional Green Funds

by Brian Yalung on Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Wal-Mart and Green Awareness

Serving notice that its claim two years ago was no fluke, Wal-Mart has recently donated a hefty sum of $1.5 million to the University of Arkansas to enhance the green research to help cut down various factors contributing towards the green issue today. These include the area of greenhouse gases and banking on sustainability.

This donation will of course go a long way considering that green research on how to contain such relevant green issues today are needed. Being at the forefront of it all, it is without a doubt that Wal-Mart is inclined to hold on to its promise to do its social responsibility towards the world today.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas researchers will study how retailers can cut greenhouse gases and be more environmentally friendly, thanks to $1.5 million from Wal-Mart Stores Inc., school and company officials announced Wednesday.

  • Someone I know is looking for funding to build a green energy invention. Can't give details because inventions have to be protected, but if anyone knows of a real source of funding for this kind of thing your help would be nice. It has to be available to the average person though, not scientists and so on.
